The best way to remove paint (touch-up paint)???

I have a scratch on my door jam, it went right to the metal, about 1inch x 1/32 inch. I was PISSED when it happend.

This happend about a week after I got my brand new 04 coupe and so i did not want it to rust so i applied honda NBP touch-up paint right away (in like 20mins after scratch happend)

but now im reading in some places that anti-rust primer is to be used on bare metal, is this true in all occasions, or only when there is rust already??

im starting to think i should somehow strip the two coats of touch-up paint i applied and re-do it, primer, paint and then clear coat.

I dont want to make it look worse than it already does, i was thinking either use a dremel or thinner to remove the paint, masking it off before i do anything since the area is quite small.

Its inside the door jam, at this point im worried about rust not asthetics.

Should I just leave it as is and not worry about the primer or strip it and re-do it???

thanks!

I would think that the touch up paint will prevent any rust from occuring and you have nothing to really worry about.

If you really want to re-do it, I don't think Paint thinner will do diddly squat on Dried touch up paint, you'll need to sand it.

Let it be, you're quick touch up will be fine.

All cars get scratched. Accept entropy, it is inevitable.

If the paint covers the entire scratch, it shouldn't rust because it's sealed up.

takumi is right and i would just leave it a scratch in the door jamb is not a big deal unless you have a show car or something.
