aftermarket resonators

anyone know where i can get aftermarket resonators and which ones are good...rite now i have the universal HKS hi-power exhuast with 2.25" custom piping...lookin to get an aftermarket resonator such as MAGNAFLOW or something like that...what other brands are there and where can i get them? and is it possible to replace my 2.25" piping and slap on some hinges to the axleback to make the aftermarket resonator connect properly to the axleback instead of having to weld it? if i can recall i think crackhead79 had it...and whats this that i hear some people have 2 resonators? is that similar to what my question is, just with 2 instead of one? how much deeper and quieter does it make the exhuast? and does it add a lil hp? im trying to make my universal HKS hi-power into kind of a full cat-back...just as if i bought the HKS hi-power cat-back for my car...(ex. for the 5spd EX civic...mines a/t, they dont have full cat-back for the hi-power for a/t! ) help please!

Hey 01civicuh,

I recently had a new glasspack resonator installed. I have a 24" resonator, a little big but my options were 8" 12" 16" or 24, i opted for the quietest option 24". It had to be welded on, but im sure if you wanted it to be a bolt on they could do it for an extra charge. As far as adding a little power, i dont think so, more restrictions if anything.
It only cost me 60 installed for the resonator, call around to a performace exhaust specialist and they should have one in stock. Take my advice a glasspack is all youll need!

I've also got 2.25" custom piping and it wasn't fitting well with the progress rear swaybar so I just had them chop the piping off just behind the passenger seat, added a 12" by 4" dia. Magnaflow in that space just infront of the rear suspension with a turndown.

Saved about 30lbs in muffler and pipe and seeing as it was for autocross I didn't really care about a 4" polished can sticking out the back. Plus it sounds great; nice and deep, never has the "civic buzz" sound. With the turndown it's pretty low key, you won't go attracting every cop in 5 miles.
