painting methods unleashed
just curious on which methods are best and most popular.
first off, i'm talking about my brake calipers and drums.
1. spraying them
2. brushing them
3. powder coating them
which would you go, i've never taken apart either assemblies before.
based on first timers, which would you go with? and WHY

Rep Power: 273 Sorry to hijack this thread, but I have similar question: Is it completely necessary to use a special heat spray paint if you were to take that route? Can't use generic rust spray paint? Also, would you have to go to a specialty store for the heat paint? Thanks..

You realize brake parts can get up around 1000 degrees right? Rustoleum ain't gonna cut it bud. It'll bubble off in no time flat. Use caliper paint, people have also had luck using BBQ grill paint. I would say to get something good to 1000+ degrees.
