vafcII setup info?

I still haven't got an answer on this. As far as the initial setup, what is the correct vtec setting to use? Me and some other members are using vtec=1, but then there are some using vtec=3. Can someone tell me for sure which is right?

I'm not sure, but i think it is probably different for each car, same as all the other settings. But then again i've never used one so........

Hmmm, interesting. That table in the instructions doesn't make alot of sense. I have mine set to vtec=1 and it still engages around 3K rpms.

okay. I seriously don't know if I should purchase one anymore; because I heard it's the best to tune it on a dyno by someone who knows what their doing. tunning session alone might be more expensive than the unit it self.

Yes, you must dyno tune to see any difference. I'm just asking about initial setup that you must do before starting the car. Dyno tuning I believe costs between $100-$200, and it's worth it if you have some good mods. Stock won't benefit much from it.

^^^ SAFC-II is good if you have some nice mods....so would my Auto with Intake Header and Exhaust be worth considering for such an upgrade? I seriously don't know if I should get one.

Send a PM to WannaBfast. I believe he has that combo and gained 10whp from some tuning. It basically optimizes the air/fuel ratio depending on the mods you have. He posted a dyno a while back and gained some torque back. My car is completely stock except for a ported head, which should be installed soon. I got it just for that. It's a bigger mod than just your basic boltons. I think it would still be worth it for you. And it also has a bunch of monitor features like revs, voltage, rpm, etc.

ok.. found my install manual...

it goes as follows...
Car name - car model - engine model - manufacturing year - ecu position - remarks - terminal drawing - vtec number - and sensor type

you cant see.. but the sensor type is PR-6

since the em2 has the same d17a as the ferio... it works either way

Interesting. Mine doesn't come with that, but it has a table with the rpm ranges or something. 1=high range 3K-7K, 2=midrange 3K-6K, 3=low range 2K-6K.

So I guess vtec=3 then. I'll go change it. Maybe I didn't notice anything wrong because my car isn't tuned yet.
