2005 Hybrid Tranny #3 (2 Repairs)

I love my Hybrid but $8500 for a suggested new trans is steep. Is there a swap available in my case?
Any other options. She ran 70,000miles and after two start clutch repairs the Dealership won't repair it again.
She looks brand new inside and out except for the wheels. Would hate to give er up.

Re: 2005 Hybrid Tranny #3 (2 Repairs)

Was trans fluid changed every 30k? Correct Honda CVTF fluid? (dipstick may have a tag saying ATF, but thats obsolete)

70k without changing trans fluid .....normal fluid deterioration may be causing shudder.problems.
Basic fluid maint is simple, cheap, and may reduce or eliminate the shudder.

If a 3 quart drain and fill helps somewhat, do it again.

Shudder is annoying, but i dont think ive heard of total failure to move because of it.
Many I of these I encounter do it, and many people wont spend a dime on maint until it needs a tow truck.

Update:
No shudder in cold weather and very little if any for the first 15 miles. Downhill after that. Had a mech check the fluid visually with no cause for alarm it appears. Afraid to change to new updated fluid (unfamiliar) mentioned in thread but will try if things get worse. Last time I changed it [older fluid type?] the car almost became un-driveable.
Saving on a budget for worst case scenario. PROBLEM: The transmissions available at AutoParts shops are only guaranteed for 3yr 30,000 miles. I sure hope the Dealer installation reverts back to the original guarantee if I have it replaced.

NOTE: Did not realize I received replies. Will have to check my settings.
