I have a 2005 Hch 1.3L and I have a P0497 code. Was told to replace the Purge Valve solenoid. I cannot find the location of this part anywhere and I’m fearing it may be tucked under the intake manifold. I can’t find what I’m looking for anywhere online, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Again, it’s the Purge Valve solenoid, not the Vent Valve.
I'm not familiar with that engine but you should have a vacuum line going from the purge canister in the back of the vehicle, up into the solenoid and then into the intake manifold. So trace all of your vacuum lines and find the one that that heads down the firewall towards the back of the vehicle.

Also you may want to check into testing it, if it works then try replacing the EVAP canister.
