What kinda engine can I put in a 91 civic??? So I have a 91 Civic HB and am looking to get a Vtec upgrade. What is the biggest one I can put into it and still pass emissions? Does anyone know the answer??? Thanks for your help.

OK... New question.
I think I have it narrowed down to a B16 or a B18.
Now for the question... I need to pros and cons on these two from different aspects: Cost (Including conversion parts and labor between the two), speed comparison (HP), reliability, and after they are put on what you can do to them to get more out of them?
What are the pros and cons for both engines???
