Guys,
I know someone asked me to post photos of my 86 civic SI 3 door hatchback, 1500 model (1500 with refers to the engine with FI) as all other 3 doors had a carbarated (spelling) engine.
Well here she is in her beat up glory.
Note a few things
1. The SI badge that was on the right hand lower portion of glass hatch fell off, hahaha.
2. The SI hubcaps, were so ugly, I had to take them off and just leave plain steel wheels.
3. The Moonroof got so hot, I had to spray paint the inside of the glass to keep my head from burning on hot summer days.
4. No A/C, no power steering, she was something to drive.
4a. The rear windsheild wiper also dissappeared one day, I think someone swiped it. That's NY for ya.
5. The car was so light and had the fuel injected 1500 engine, I was able to beat cars twice as expensive off line and chirp in first and second gear.
6. The metal was so thin on the doors and body, a finger could push it way through.
7. I loved her and miss her, super reliable car and a sinch to do work on.
8. As per a brochure I saw at honda a year ago, the 86 was indeed the first SI civic.
Just in case you think I am full of BS and there are always some, here is a photo of what she would have looked like brand new.
Oh, did I mention I bought her with only 40,000 original miles for $400 from a friend at work not more than 3 years ago.

Rep Power: 0 Yep, she was clean, lots of dents and some rust but for the time I had her, she purred like a kitten.
I then sold it about a year later to a guy at work for $200 for his son to learn how to drive. They still have it.
Great cars!
