8000 Mile Maintenance Reset

How do you reset the Maintenance light that comes on after 8000 miles?

Hold down the trip meter button, turn the car to on, wait about 20 seconds, start the car, and let go of the button. Light is reset until the next mileage interval.

Would the procedure that you posted work for a (5000 mile) Maintenance Reminder for a 2006 Civic EX 4dr sedan automatic?

I do my own oil changes and just wanted to know how to 'reset' the Maintenance Reminder.

im not sure that reset will work check you manual and see what it says because it also tells the same information i gave about this reset it may have something about the reminder reset
