Quick question

Just swapped out my trans on my 01 EX. Still have the stock radiator. With the new trans they sent an inline filter. Problem i have is im unsure which line is the return line. Is it the left or right line on the radiator? They are both on the bottom of the radiator. In other words which line is the return line off the trans? The front one or the back one by the rear trans mount closer to the dipstick?

Ive looked everywhere for a reference and cant find one. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Re: Quick question

When I get a factory reman trans, they send a filter KIT with pipes and brackets and stuff to install it along the bottom of the radiator fan shrouds.
They install it in the line that comes from the drivers side of the radiator. So the drivers side of the radiator is the return......as long as you didn't get the rubber lines swapped at the trans LOL.

Re: Quick question

isnt it a looping system sending the transmission fluid through the rad and back into the transmission? if it's all one loop couldn't it go anywhere to filter?

Re: Quick question

No. When a trans blows up, the trans cooler can catch and hold a lot of debris from the failed trans.

If trapped debris comes out of the cooler later on, it can trash your new trans. No warranty on a failure if that happens.

The filter is installed to stop that trash from entering the new transmission if (when) it comes out of the cooler.
