Summer gas, cooler temp?

I have noticed that the temp gauge on my car seems to be running a little lower for the past week or two than it has been. I think the gas stations have switched back to the summer gas blend, because last tank I saw an increase of about 3 mpg. Would the summer gas blend cause a cooler operating temperature? Just curious, it isn't much of a change

I'm not certain when fuel blends change for the season (Google it!), but I think that consistent warm weather alone can explain this.
My mileage has been slowly going back up too.

Would the summer gas blend cause a cooler operating temperature?
Absolutely not. Completely unrelated.

Oh hell, here. I googled it.

Looks like the storage terminal has to have RFG fuel by April 15, but your local station may get it a bit later than that.

Ok, JW. I could be imagining the lower temp reading. And I think it did switch gas, I went from 35 to 38 mpg from one tank to the next, with little change in weather. It's a welcome sight

Re: Summer gas, cooler temp?

hotter air coming in your intake (to a certain point) will yield better mpg.

Yeah it helps, but Ohio weather forgot about spring this year. Frost again this morning.

Re: Summer gas, cooler temp?

Even with temps in the 30s I can keep my temp gauge down by blasting the heat in the mornings. Turn down the fan speed and gauge soon pops up to normal mark.
