DTC P0947 EVAP system low purge flow

Uhh.....WTF?

So, Autozone shows an EVAP valve.... nobody really shows the evap canister, and by the way, is the canister that little filter thingy by the gas tank that Gearbox cut open in his "forgotten tune up" thread?

I changed the gas cap, since I looked and it WAS bad; EVAP code still came back.

Any suggestions?

Re: DTC P0947 EVAP system low purge flow

no, that is the air filter. the charcoal canister is a different part to trap fuel vapors. low purge is usually related to a faulty evap valve (not opening to send gas vapors to the engine) located near the throttle body.

Re: DTC P0947 EVAP system low purge flow

Could I possibly clean this thing with some carb cleaner and have a chance of it working again?

carb cleaner will ruin plastics. you could try electric parts cleaner or MAF sensor cleaner.

Re: DTC P0947 EVAP system low purge flow

Passed emissions yesterday!!!!!!

It only took a downstream O2 sensor, a set of (the right) plugs, and a purge valve.
Not a new cat, like some of the mechanics told me.

Re: DTC P0947 EVAP system low purge flow

If the 06 car is the same body as the 04, then this part is attached to the throttle body, you'll have to remove the complete air cleaner. If I remember right, it was a pretty straight forward part swap.
