2006 Civic EX troubles

My wife has owned her civic which now has 60k miles on it for just over 2 months and we are having some troubles with it. First the battery went dead 2 weeks ago overnight from ?????? while camping in the Mountains. Next it has a hard time at idle randomly and occasionally dies or seems to misfire while sitting at stop lights. Also the AC seems to not work occasionally during this (not sure if its connected or not) and now the CHECK GAS CAP warning is flashing. ANY help would be awesome, I am pretty handy in the garage with motors as I am a MX racer but I have no clue where to start with this Honda

Re: 2006 Civic EX troubles

I think the guy you bought the used car from ,either changed the battery on you with a dead one, or it is the origianl battery which might needed to go anyway- almost 5 yrs old ??

Check the ground cables while you are at it-the factory ones could be corroded out as they are bare copper-that will cause electrical problems.

some of the issue you have may be because the battery was marginal anyway, but each could be independent of each other and in no way simply electrical. Dirty fuel injectors or even dirty air flow sensor could be a culprit of the rough idle.

Good luck.

Re: 2006 Civic EX AIR CONDITION troubles

My ac stops becoming cool then kicks back in randomely. Anyone know why? Someone said that it might be the ground on the compressor circuit. Anyone know where i could find that? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
