Rep Power: 266 Can we use s2000 oil filters on 7thgens?
Hey guys,
My brother was telling me that a bunch of guys with accords are using s2000 oil filters on their cars (my bro uses one too, even tho honda said it wouldnt fit, it does fit and it is supposedly better)
Im just wondering if S2000 oil filters will fit on 7thgens (i have a 2003 canadian Si, which is an 2003 American EX if that makes a difference)
If someone could kindly let me know, Id appreciate it (and rep+1 for you!)
Thanks!

Rep Power: 281 Uh I thought we still use all the same filter? When I go to the dealer sometimes to pick up an OEM filter, they just sit in a bucket, without any descriptions for diff types of vehicles.

Rep Power: 272 I think it has something to do with the higher oil pressure or flow rate the S2k prolly makes at 9k rpm hehe. Maybe its larger to cycle more oil to keep the pump from being overworked. IDK my buddy has an s2k and we were just talking about this last week. I think Im gunna get two filters and chop em up to see whats what.

Rep Power: 264 Dont use a used s200 filter(try to find one anyways). Honda engineers wouldn't just randomly not use the s2000 filter. The guys who get paid to think about these things decided it would be best to go with a civic filter. If it was a positive Honda would push us to buy it at a higher price.

Rep Power: 265 ^Bragging right?? Are you high?? "Hi, I spent more money on a filter not even designed to work with my car, that certainly won't help my engine, and may screw it up." Doesn't sound like bragging to me, more like an admission of chronic stupidity.

Rep Power: 253 Isnt the s2000 a little better than the regular one? Like more flow or something? They originally cost a bit more, but now its the same price as the regular ones.
