oil change intervals...
i've been told the 2005 7th gens only require an oil change every 10k miles?
so i was wondering how often do we need to change ours? i usually change mine every 5k...thanks in advance!

(i have had UOA's done to confirm that the oil was still properly protecting and working as intended)

the color of oil does not determine when you change it. oil gets dirty. it's supposed to. if it doesn't, then it's not doing its job.

no. you can get easily 5000.
the 3000 mile oil change is an old mantra from the past when oils were nowhere NEAR the quality of today's oils.

This civic is an SI, totally different motor, your civic has an economy based motor, an Si has a performance based motor. They are built differently, in short the performance motors will have more blow by than an economy motor, hence eat more oil.

s2kman is right, if your oil doen't turn dark, it's not suspending the blow by carbon, which means the carbon is getting deposited else where in the engine. oil should turn dark, if you ever take oil out and it looks like new, something is wrong.
