hey about the driving an auto and taking your foot of the gas to change gear? i do that all the time. ****.. how does it mess up the car? please explain

it makes the gear slip more than it should, its hard to explain. i mean you obviously have to let off the gas a little to stop accelerating, but you should not be taking your foot off the gas completely just as its about to switch gears. It not a huge deal, like everything else it just causes very slightly more wear on the gears. just make sure you are giving it a lil gas as it switches gear, then youre free to take your foot off.

ill recheck the wheel torque, but 10 ft/lbs difference is not a disaster. its more important that they all have the SAME torque.

great info, but i would disagree with the engine light also, your manual has a great guide to dealing with an engine light.

temperature gauge is very important to watch. with the aluminum parts in our engines, it doesnt take much to crack.

i would recommend getting one of those $30 ebay code readers and keeping it in the glovebox (with the codes printed out). not all malfunctions are severe, but many are and you can cause more damage by not shutting the car off. if the oil light comes on, def pull over asap and get it towed. but when that light comes on, youre pretty much screwed anyway in a matter of seconds.

Okay, when I see "auto" in relation to switching gears, I think of an automatic transmission...but that advice looks to be for MANUAL transmission. Am I missing something?
