IDK I never had the stock ecu in. What I did was pull that coolant barb out of the flange and weld a plug in its place, when my EGR was hooked up it never leaked but I'm sure it wasnt functioning properly. I doubt it would hurt anything, the computer probably cant tell the difference but I wont give a definete answer on that.

I welded a flange on for the D17 tb and all the stuff to bolt right up. I needed to make a custom throttle cable bracket too. I even went so far as to put a MAP sensor bung in there to use the factory map sensor for the guy that bought it. I kept the cruise control too so I was pretty happy about that.

you can remove the EGR by getting a D17a1 thermostat housing. a1 and a2 heads are both setup for EGR, but the a1 doesnt have it, so the thermostat housing just isnt flanged for it. voila, factory block off plate. this will throw codes if you arent using a stand alone, however.

dont you just make the 2 tubes come together so the fluid will still circulate and then close off the flanges on the TB? why would that throw a code, the fluid is still flowing and i believe that is what its lookin for. its just there to thaw the TB if your in cold temperatures.

It's not the TB we're talking about here. It's the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirc) channels on the back of the D17 injector plate and the corresponding port on the intake mani and tstat housing like Edwin was talking about. You're thinking of the TB coolant lines. Two completely different things.

ohhh, ****, right on... well im havin a prob with that too, lmao... and i already got a CEL up for that one.... i guess i lost pressure on the exhaust side upgrading to 2.5" and its been throwin a CEL ever since. Any way i can fix that?
im assuming when i hook up my emanage and remove the AFC2 that my vtec is no longer going to work because the ecu will be controlling the vtec again and not the afc controller.... damnit

Which DTC are you throwing? Changing out the exhaust to whatever diameter shouldn't throw a code at all. Unless you ditched the cat and aren't running an o2 simulator.

for those that dont know...
Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is a NOx (nitrogen oxide and nitrogen dioxide) reduction technique used in most gasoline and diesel engines.
EGR works by recirculating a portion of an engine's exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. Intermixing the incoming air with recirculated exhaust gas dilutes the mix with inert gas, lowering the adiabatic flame temperature and (in diesel engines) reducing the amount of excess oxygen. The exhaust gas also increases the specific heat capacity of the mix lowering the peak combustion temperature. Because NOx formation progresses much faster at high temperatures, EGR serves to limit the generation of NOx. NOx is primarily formed when a mix of nitrogen and oxygen is subjected to high temperatures.
