I'm pretty familiar with my car now so any difference from the wires should be noticeable. I'll post the pros/cons later in this same post.

FYI:

I'm going to use 4 g wire and go from Neg to: trans, firewall right strut tower, radiator wall, valve cover.
I DID ... ...... wassup alan ...... i forgot to show you huh??

im going to have to belive opto_isolator about the hks grounding. because how would one long wire coming from the batery with a few point do anything. they have to be seperate like the hks one. thats what i plan on getting in a few days anyways.

Both methods work. the daisy chain method is cheaper less wire used, but very effective still.

The HKS Hub style is more expensive, with more wires running around in your engine bay if you are grounding like 5 or 6 points.

here's my $.02. in a way, hks reduces resistance more than happies. why? because they are wired in parallel instead of serial. it gives current a better path to follow.

parallel: 1/r1 + 1/r2 + 1/rn = 1/r total
serial (daisy chain): r1 + r2 + rn = r total

who knows, maybe i'm wrong. maybe the difference is next to nothing.

how do u think about this item(bottom - entire gold)?
its $16 at Circuit city and $3 on ebay.
a guy at circuit city said its good cuz its gold which conduct better and its reuseable since its bolt on type.
compare this one to another one..
which one do u think is better?

i dont care about reuseable thing but the bottom one is thicker than upper one.. its about 7mm..if the bolt is short it would make problem but i think i will be okay cuz nobody will make it if its thickness cause any problem..

is it okay that the bottom one doesnt have rubber part? whole surface of that one is gonna conduct electricity..is that fine? when 2 or 3 of them overlap at negative terminal?

Thumbs up

You guys inspired me to do this mod and so I did. I felt a slight improvement but mainly in the speakers. All in all it was worth it.

$20.00 for 4 gauge wire from Ebay.
$5.00 for the ring terminals from Home Depot.
$6.00 for some Heat Shrinks from Home Depot.
TOTAL $31.00 *Not bad*

Here are some pictures:

It's not as easy as that. I think it's easier to think of it this way... The negative battery terminal is essentially the ground for the car. A stock car has this terminal wired to the chassis. All of the electrical components in the car have to have a ground for them to work. They have to be wired to the negative battery terminal for them to work. A large copper wire might be a better conductor than the steel chassis. You'll have a better conduit for the electrons. They'll have a shorter path and less resistence.

That's why a parrallel network might be better than a series network. Then again, there's another issue here. A daisy chain is basically one cable in series with connecting points to the chassis. So... The electricity has a choice. It will take the path of least resistence. That might be directly through the chain of wire into the negative battery terminal, but it might also be through only some of the wire into the chassis and then through the chassis into the negative battery terminal. The problem is that we don't know which one is more optimal. That's why letting the electrons decide might be the best bet.

It's a complex issue, and I have no clue how multiple electrical components wanting the same circuit at the same time affect the whole system? ??? Using parrallel connections would theoretically get rid of this "issue", but we'de need to be sure that the cable is better for the electrons to flow through than the chassis is. If we knew that for sure, then we could be sure that the parrallel system (HKS style) was the optimum one.

No Just cause its made by stinger doesn't mean its better...Go with the 0.99 cent 2058 OFC strand wire...Much better beacuse of the wire count. here is a link...check out his other auctions. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ory=32810&rd=1

I just figured out that happies kit is ALOT LESS HASTLE than what im going through now. The wire was cheap but finding gold ring terminals is hard...It comes out cheaper but its alot of hastle.
AUTOZONE DOES NOT CARRY GOLD RING TERMINALS atleast mine dont
pepboys does in quatity of 2 for about 5.99
circuity city charges 4.99 for 2
same for best buy
Radioshack caries Sh|t
and this guy at car audiomasters wanted like 30, 40 bucks for 20 pieces(im making 2 kits)
AND i was at home depot and lowes they only sell tin plated copper terminals which is not what we want. The gold ring terminals are much better.

SO the only place left is to buy online...i found some places but im waiting on them to email me.
SO far i spent $26.78 on 22 feet of 4 gauge 2058 strands of OFC wire.
Ive got all the tools so only thing left are the terminals.

I'll keep u guys posted on what i find (BUT I STILL SUGGEST TO GO WITH HAPPIES KIT.........I WISH I DID!)
