Rep Power: 163 Amplifier ground wire
Anyone have a good ground wire location for an amp in the trunk of a 2004 VP coupe? Right now i have it grounded on a piece of the frame i found on the right side of the trunk behind the carpeting, but my wire is pretty short and there is almost NO slack on it. Pics appreciated

Re: Amplifier ground wire
I'm running two amps grounded to a common point. One amp is mounted on the left rear seatback and the other is on the right side of the trunk floor more to the front of the trunk. The grounding point is at the bottom of the front of the trunk cut out where the back seat and the openning of the truink meet. Make sure to remove the paint to get a good metal to metal contact grounding point. Also use at least 4awg power and ground cable and do the "big three" wiring, which is using at least 4awg cabling for your alternator output, battery ground and chasis ground. The reason for the large guage cabling is the amps use alot of current and with the little wire that comes off the stock alt. will put a strain on your electrical system.
