Civic Upgrade
Re: Civic Upgrade
Welcome.
Read through the 7th gen section.
There is not much you can do to increase power beside swapping in a new camshaft and adding headers, intake and exhaust.

Re: Civic Upgrade
boost or swap is gonna be your best bet for a d17a2. Cams might be hard to come by since crower discontinued the D17 line. There is a vast wealth of knowledge, especially considering this forum started off as a 7thgen civic forum. Lol, just checked it. 7thgencivic.com still works and reroutes here to civicforums.
Horsepower, the 7thgen won't really shine (not without swapping for a k20). Where the 7thgen shines is suspension work. Best bang for buck performance mods you can do on the 7thgen platform is all suspension related.
Cam it, put some noisemaking mods (intake/header/downpipe/exhaust) to get the sound you want, and enjoy your econobox. As "weak" as the 7thgen was, I absolutely loved my 2002 civic. Wasn't the fastest, but she had a bit of pep to her step, and still got me 32+mpg on a daily
