Air fuel ratio

What is the ideal air/fuel ratio? I've heard figures like 10 parts air, 1 part gas. Is this correct? What is the air/fuel ratio given off by a completely stock engine?

Re: Air fuel ratio

14.7:1 is complete combustion (everything is expended). You dont want to run that high under load, as you want some factor of safety set into the system, NA, I think you could get away with High 12s at WOT, under boost, you want mid 11s

Re: Air fuel ratio

So complete combustion is 14.7 parts air and 1 part gas. But idealy, you want 12 parts air and 1 part gas at WOT (wide open throttle)?

Re: Air fuel ratio

12 anything :1 is uber rich. You won't make power that rich. I'd say mid-high 13's would be good under n/a apps. Mid-low 11's is ideal for boost, gives a good cushion of safety.

Re: Air fuel ratio

12's:1 on an N/A all motor app should be fine. That will allow for some buffer of bad gas and top end runs.
