DX Vs. LX. Vs. EX

Don't worry, they were all 5-speeds.

Alright me and part of my crew went out for a few brawls. Our first race started from a stop, DX on the left, EX in the middle and LX on the right. We started on my count to 3 but what kind of sucked was that we started facing up which meant traction launching our rides resulted in nothing but inevitable tire spin. LX gets the jump on me (EX) and then off goes the DX. 1st gears caught and the LX has me at 1/2 a car length from 2nd to 3rd gear. By this time, the DX was clearly in my rear view because he missed 3rd. But when I enter 4th, the game changes. My car pulls on the LX in the top end resulting in putting about 1/2 a car length on him! We topped out at around 105MPH and the race was over.

Second race we decide to do this from about a 50MPH roll on the freeway. This didn't go out too well considering we weren't all lined up. From left to right it was DX, LX, and EX. We go on the LX's honks and I get the jump and pretty much it looked as if 1. EX 2. DX and 3 LX.

Third race was better but worse because the DX didn't hear my horn. I got the jump again on my own 3 honks and when I did I didn't know if they heard it or not so I went up at 1/2 throttle. (Yeah, I didn't tell you guys that afterwards... ) I had about 3/4s of a car length ahead of them and when I heard them get on it simulatenously I get BACK on it. My friend in the LX ineviably pulls up next to me, but in the midst of 4th gear I was the winner in the end. I could not see where the DX was because the LX was in the way but it looked like he kept up this time.

Mods worth mentioning:

DX: Exhaust
LX: Intake/Rota Group N
EX: Intake

All in all... we gotta do it again.

IMO... it's still a driver's race but the conditions weren't the best keep that in mind.

The second race really didn't count. I just learned that the LX wasn't racing cuz HE got the jump and slowed down. I thought something was odd. We all just got back and shared out views on it.

<--- CAI, no power steering, no muffler. I leave LX by more than 1/2 a car and in the top end forget about it, they ain't catching up unless I hit traffic. Guess you have to see to believe though.

What's it like not having power steering, CivicSouldjaEX? Did you get used to not having it after awhile?

Good races, though, what would have been better is if only 2 of you raced while the 3rd would honk. That would probably give better results.

that sounds like a fun night...i would like to see how all three match up. Man my car is nicely slow though....i did zero to sizty tonite with a friend....the timing was a bit off...but with perfect shifting and a decent start i only pulled off an 11....its really sad....maybe it was bad timing but i though it would be faster. Only notable mods are intake and over axle...hmm pullies are on the way.

Pulling a 0-60 with 18s on? I think the fastest for a manual EX was in the low 8s to high 7s?

the rims i have are 17's...but they are heavy...and im not sure if i was launching correctly...i got a bit of lag in first gear. But into second was fine..and i was only in third for about 2 seconds before i shut down. I also have a 12 inch sub in my trunk which probably doesnt help but i though i wouldbe able to pull off atleast a 10 or 9. Something must have been wrong...if not thats kinda depressing

hey guys, even though the EX has 12 more hp, its still heavier by a bit over the LX and DX.

so does that mean its still pretty much a drivers race???
(assuming that all cars are stock)
