I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si. When I accelerate in every gear, there is a fast ticking sound that climbs louder and faster the more i accelerate. Does anyone realistically know what this could be? Answers are appreciated.

Does it make the sound when you push the clutch pedal down and rev the engine? If no, then you have a bearing going bad in the tranny. If it's the engine than it could be valve chatter, rod knock, or a bad bearing somewhere.

The ticking is still there when i rev it in neutral. It doesnt sound like any knocking, it runs and pulls fine. Just a constant tick! Its driving me nuts!

Sounds like you need a valve lash adjustment.

I wish I could help, but I actually need help quick, I'm new to forum tonight, don't know how to post, so I'm replying! what I need is help getting my 2000 honda civic fixed. I changed the thermostat, and now no heat, had heat before I changed it. need quick fix, daughter going back to college tommorow, and if you could also tell me what to click so I could post to all members and readers on forum, it would be really appreciated. Yeah and now that i listen to it closely,at idle its sounds like some type of clicking coming from the cams. What should i do to get this fixed?
