Hi,
I have noticed that my transmission has been sluggish lately. This is particularly noticeable on the freeway. Sometimes I have to tap on the accelerator to get it into higher gears.
Car: Honda Civic 98
Transmission: Automatic
Milage: 110
Outdoor Temp: -10 to 25 degrees (Minnesota winter)
Warm up Time: 5 minutes slow city driving
Driving Style: Gentle (However my teenage son drove this car for a couple of years, and his driving style is "type A, get out of my way").
Maintenance: Complete tune-up, fluid change, and new timing built last month
I just drove my son's 98 Toyota Tracel (auto trans: 120) and the transmission was noticeably zippier.
Is my transmission starting to fail me?
Thanks, Jill

Re: Sluggish Transmission
If it isn't slipping, then probably not. Not all cars are the same. My old 94 Corolla, even though it was a slushbox, was pretty peppy off the line.
