Poor fuel economy

I have a honda civic 2007 Hybrid which has 60k on it. It is very poor on gas. The computer shows the fuel consumption is about 9 liters per 100 km (in city). Does any one has any clue about the reason?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Poor fuel economy

Your personal driving habits are the #1 cause of poor gas mileage complaints.

10 different people driving the same car on the same route can get 10 different mileage figures.

Learn driving techniques that maximize efficiency.

I managed to get over 52 MPG on my 12 Civic......on a carefully driven trip one time. I certainly can't get that on my daily commute.
My daily mileage dropped from 34 MPG to a bit over 28 MPG, solely because of the switch to winter blend gasoline and colder weather.

Aside from that, make sure your tires are aired up properly and use Top Tier Gas. http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html

Cold weather driving sucks a lot more fuel too.

Honda Civic 2008 purchased from Honda Dealer 2 month ago. City gas consumption 10.7 L/100km. Is there suggestion how to drive to get close to declared 8.7 L/100km. May I should put in neutral and push my car.... I used to have Buick 6 cyl 3.8L and with 400,000km was 12L/100km. I cannot belive...
