Why would honda not put any kind of filter (not even a magnet) on these cars? Just seems weird to me that the only way to really service one is to have it back flushed on a machine.
Mine is starting to down shift harshly at stops, and found out the only "screen" is deep in the transmission and I would have to remove the whole transmission to clean it.

Honda trannys are "drain and fill" do not use a back flush machine. And yes there is a magnet - on the end of the drain plug. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER: USE ONLY HONDA ATF-Z1 OEM FLUID

you can buy the HX civic cvt exterior fluid filter, but its prolly too late for that. do it after you get a new trans put in.

hmm... i havean appointment at a local transmission service shot to get my fluid changed. now i am wondering if i can trust them to use the right kind. maybe ishould just go to autozone and get the right stuff and take it to them and tell them touse my stuff when they cange it? how do you guys change yours when you get it done? and how often does it need to be changed?
