Well, a new valve and 3 flushes later it still blows cold at every intersection. Can't really afford an OEM one for another month and a half and by then winter will be over. This is Texas after all. lol.

1.Anybody used an aftermarket core and how long has it lasted? There's one on rockauto for $60 or the $80 one at O'Reillys I've been thinking about trying.

2.Anything else you think needs to be replaced with the core? Already replaced the valve.

3. Anybody local want to come over and do the labor? I can pay with a Sony 60" rear projection TV with 1080p, not 1080i. It's real light for the size maybe 100 lbs. lol

How do you know the core is clogged? If thats the issues and you can't flush it then replace it i guess.

Re: Have you replaced your heater core? Did you use an aftermarket core?

Got a used OEM off of local CL. Had to take it out myself (what a PITA) but, it only cost $25. The guy said the car had 65,000 miles on it when wrecked and when I put water through the core it comes out clean. Gonna switch it this weekend.
