Hi guys,
I'm new to the Honda crowd, I bought a civic last week. I got the 2002 civic EX coupe HFP edition. It has the 127hp 1.7 VTEC engine, though my question is how many of these cars did they make? Did I get a rare catch? The car is all black, 5 speed, ground effects. I understand the HFP has a better suspension and exhaust, but what else is in this package? Last question I know I won't ever achieve real speed with out a turbo, but would this car be that hard to get fast? Its pretty quick now... lol. Thanks for any tips.

To answer your questions, no they aren't 'hard' to get fast, but that kind of depends on your definition of fast. Will it take a corvette? Probably not, but with a turbo they can pick up a good 100 hp or so without too much trouble. A turbo kit on a stock engine can see 200 hp. My only piece of advice is this: 1st mod = k-pro.

hondata pulled 20 hp out of a bone stock motor, but the biggest advantage is that it allows you to get power out of any future mod you could possibly do. and it is still good if you decide to swap.

hfp civic is kinda rare, they only came in limited numbers pre-assembled, even tho you can buy the parts separately and turn any civic into hfp model. it basically has upgraded shocks and a 1 inch lowered ride, full underbody spoiler kit, hfp emblems, hfp 16 inch alloy wheels with performance tires, and a few other misc interior mods like shift ****. post some pics.

I'll post pictures soon. The car is going into the body shop tomorrow to get some hail damage out from old owner. I get pics when I get it back.
It has a Honda Factory Performance emblem below radio in center. It also has another one on the back of the car.
If has a chrome mini shifter, though it was after market, but guess not. Yes it has Honda 16" wheels, alloy something light weight thing...
The car is in great shape and has low miles, that's pretty much the main reason I want to make engine mods.
I guess my question about the HFP package is does it have any engine changes compared to the standard 1.7 V TECH found in other EX's?

The only changes I can think to the engine are probably an exhaust and possibly an intake (not entirely sure on that one). The engine itself is the same. Definitely get some pics. If you have those hfp split 7 spoke wheels, that is awesome. I hardly ever see them and they look great.

i know someone who has an HFP civic. the stock (aero?) kit that comes with it is really nice and it is pretty low. too bad this guy is not a car enthusiast, but if that was my car....i would do ungodly things to it. and the kids a douche which makes it worse lol

I really, really like the rims your lucky to get all that stuff stock.
Is the lowered suspension stock? Also if I were you I would get rid of the eBay tail lights and throw on some 03-05 OEM tails.
BTW: This site won't render properly for me, tried IE and Firefox.

fixed my issues by getting the new firefox and the latest sun java update. opera was a disaster with this site. same with IE8. opera was a ton faster but if it doesnt work anymore theres no point in trying.
anyway yeah now that i can post and read threads again, nice rims and car. that looks like the real hfp civic.
