i have had mine for a very long time and love it. i did eventually trade the foam filter for an AEM dryflow paper filter and had to make some custom bracket for the intake and also extend the temp sensor wires, but its worth it. very simple and effective intake, easy to clean the filter, nice sound and gains, and filter gets outside air directly thru the upper mesh grill. so technically its like a cold air with the car moving. i have tried aem and K&N intakes and like the WR best. Ive had it for about 7 yrs.

oops i forgot its for an 06+ civic engine. i think your best bet will be K&N typhoon with aem dry filter on it. the volant is okay, but heatshield around the filter will only trap more heat. the design looks too pieced together. the K&N even has a small heatshield on the bottom.

this is the myth being busted for cold air and ram air intakes
They literalloy say that it gives maybe a 1%increase in power so dont waste your money get a header and exhaust and a turbo

unless your car does not have an upper grill, any short ram will work like a cold air with the car moving. the engine bay has to be sealed off from outside air to actually have a warm air intake.

definately not! the PCV system needs vacuum from the intake to work properly.

Ive been looking at this on a whole bunch of websites. Its just says air intake system. if search for K&n short ram, all that comes up is the same product and product number. If i search for a K&n cold air intake, same thing comes up.

well no, its a short ram like in the pic. they dont make cold air for that intake and car model.

IMO cold air is better, sucking air from in front of the wheel well. Side note you will have to avoid standing water while driving.

Is the short ram intake hard to install on a 06 ex non si sedan? looks like some kind of sensor has to mount to the tubing? Also wanted to see if anyone in here knows if i can use a short ram intake system from a 95 integra ls would fit my civic?

if youre going to ask how hard it is to install a air intake system then you should probably just not do it.. to really get a hp increase a cold air/short ram isn't going to do much, you also need to put on a header along with a complete exhaust system so with all that added up youll be spending around 800 to 1000 bucks

that's right the name (cold air intake is not really a cold air intake at all)
when its under the hood of a hot engine in a hot climate outside when its
80-90 degrees ferenheit b.s. even with the car moving your still getting warm air at best in the summer time.

I have the 2007 Coupe and I preferred the Weapon-R intake. It's a short intake with the cold air hook if you decide to relocate the battery, otherwise you only have room for the intake with this design. I live in Washington state where condensation is regular so a cold air or ram would not benefit ME, I also agree with the comment about HP. My intake may give me 10HP on a cold day but to maximize your horse power without spending too much you must go with headers and a cat back system to see at least 275 HP. Stock 170-175 +intake 10+headers 50+ cat back 50-70=285-300 with the right combo and brand.

I put a K & N on my 95 civic and it had a more aggressive sound, but I never noticed any appreciable gain in HP regardless of weather conditions. Why not just get a regular K & N on a stock system? It would save you money in the long run. I was wondering if there was a way to put that 95 system filter in my 2013 Civic? I still own the intake system.

I'm just curious about something. Which brand of intake is better? Are they all the same in terms of gains? Or do they differ slightly?

Because I'm still on the fence about whether or not I want to boost my '08 Civic EX, I was planning on putting a cold-air intake system on my car for the time being, or until I decide on what I'm going to do.

Do you guys have a preferred brand that is your go-to for these situations? Something that you know will give you some gains?
