Rep Power: 0 how much to fix my 2009 civic's bumper
Hello my 2009 honda civic hydroplaned on the highway and the bumper hit the guard rail. I got some damage on my car's bumper and tail light cover broken. I am not sure if I should submit a claim on my insurance or get it repaired by paying out of pocket. I am looking for advice from folks on the this forum as how much will it cost to get it repaired. Thank you so much for your help!!

Idk, I think it might be more than 1,000, a lady backed into my car while I was working (luckily she had the honesty to come in and tell me)
The bumper was cracked a lot and trunk lid was dented/scratched in a few places...repair was quoted at 2,000.
('06 sedan)
Looks like you'll need a new bumper, tailight, and possible some work done on the quarter panel(can't tell from the pic if it is damaged or not)
My bumper was replaced and trunk lid repaired(not replaced), and mine is a 2006...so like I said I think it might be more than 1,000.

Also, off topic a little...but must have been one heck of a ride to hydroplane on the highway, glad to see all you got was a little body damage.

Yeah I am glad I am safe. My car did the full 180degree turn on the freeway, got lucky that there was no other traffic. I still don't know how this happened as I was going slow like 55 mph. Just glad I didn't get hurt

I'd go with the insurance, it may be hassle but i mean, what's insurance for in the first place?
If you really explain the situation your rates might not even go up, depending on how kind your insurance company is.
