Yeah, SC won...that's all they care about. Give them two years with Stevie-Boy and they might be a decent team...SC vs. GA this Sat...GO DAWGS!!!! SC barely made it out of the game against central fl....enough said!
georgia will kill SC. I dunno if SC has enough draw for spurrier to get his top qb recruits and with his offense he really needs them. i bet he also misses Bob Stoops as his defensive coordinator, spurrier isnt a defensive guy at all.

UGA may very well beat USC next week, but Spurrier doesn't need Stoops. Spurrier knows enough about defense because he trains his QB's to beat any defense. USC's Defensive coach doesn't know $hit. Did you see how Spurrier had to get a hold of the defensive coach at the end of the game and tell him what to do. Once he did that, USC started to shut down UCF. USC might have lost that game if Spurrier hadn't done that.
Anyways, I pull for 2 teams. USC and whoever is playing against Clemson or UGA.
i know, but you have to admit that spurrier is more offensive minded. now to be a head coach of course you have to know defense as well, but there is a reason that the best defense ever at Florida (and best in the country at the time) was under Stoops and declined after he left.

Sure, it helps if you can score points...but if you let the other team score...then guess what? You might just be screwed. A good head coach needs to focus on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. My prediction is that Carolina will only will against teams with a weak offense; Carolina's offense can run the ball, however their defense can't stop another team from doing so.

Exactly my point.

Well they didn't "run" the ball too well. They only rushed for 36 yards the whole game.
What everyone else is failing to see about that game is that the reason that Carolina did so well was because they had their first stringers in. No one has brought up the point about how Spurrier sent in secondary men to test out different plays. He realized that his team can pass the ball, but in the second half he totally concentrated on running the ball which got them no where. UCF was a good choice to test his different plays out on because he still got the win. I'll bet you he won't play the same way against UGA.
BTW, did you know that Spurrier has a 21-1 record in opener game victories. This includes his horrible stint with the Redskins.
Texas better win, they are play Louisiana Lafayette. I just got back from the OU game, it was terrible. The defense played a good second half but the offensive line couldnt block me, and the QB's made terrible choices. Dont go saying UT is better than OU just yet, UT hasnt beaten OU in 5 years. UT always looks better on paper but we shall see. The game still has to be played. In 1996 OU lost to TCU at home in the first game, yet still beat UT that year and had an awful 3-8 season. So dont count them out yet.
