but seriously, i got in no particular order chamberlain, jordan, russell, kareem, oscar robertson, dr. j, j. west......then baylor, magic, bird, k. malone, thomas. im not sure if i completely missed someone
I'm going for Detroit, if the lakers continue to play the way they played in Game 1, Detroit will take it in Game 4....puhahah...
but in all seriousness, I think Detroit can win this, but it'll be a game 7 win and by like less then 10 points and shaq and kobe fouled out in the beginning of the 4th quarter...lol
Jordan is the #1. There's no argument, not only was the best offensive player of all time, but he was probably the best defensive guard too. Wilt is number 2. The man scored 100 points in a game and averaged a triple double for a whole season. They changed the rules of the game becasue of him. Even Shaq isn't that dominant... However Shaq is unstoppable and he could very well be the 3rd best player of all time when it's all said and done. Especially if he wins another ring this year.
You know...you guys talking about best and talent. Just because a person is MASSIVE and moves people around like ants and slams the ball (Shaq), doesn't make them talented or the best. Dominant yes, but how much talent does that really take. I mean come on, let's be serious. He sucks at free throws, and is barely getting his mid range jumpers/hook shots to go in. You people are forgetting the great Centers like Olajuwan(sp?), Robinson, Ewing. These are guys that COULD do it all. THEY were talented and WERE some of the best. Why isn't anyone talking about any of them...

Olajuwan did beat Shaq face to face in the finals once... It's interesting that the only other great center of Shaq's time is Duncan and he's got 2 rings himself. Hakeem's time had many more great centers...
I would agree with Fraga, that Hakeem and Robinson were great center's ... not Ewing ... He was skillful, could shoot and play defense, but no way is he better than Shaq ... To define "great" centre's means, you should be the star of your team, and be able to win ... Shaq has done both .. Ewing has not ...
Well, I wasn't trying to say they were better, but merely had more talent cause they could do more things that actually took talent to achieve, such as shoot, run up and down the floor (D. Robinson was awesome at that), and not merely camp out under the basket and slam the ball home or swat something outa the air. I was merely trying to differenciate between being dominant and being talented.
Shaq has a number of moves down low ...drop step, baseline spin, jump hook, up and under ... when he drops steps towards the baseline, he pins you on his backside and your stuck, you either foul him or he get an easy dunk ... He's to big to block, and if you do block him, its usualy from the weak side ... if he's double, he usually always finds the open man, or the cutter ... Within 10 feet of the rim, he's unstoppable .... all you can do is hope he misses
