awesome saints play

so did anyone see that awesome saints play sunday, against jacksonville? the last few seconds of the game, ... and i think it went like this: aaron brooks to donte stallworth, then to michael lewis, then to deuce mcallister, then to jerome pathon, who scored... so then john carney, which who btw hasnt missed a field goal since 1999, goes for the extra point which would tie the game (20-20) and go into overtime... well he misses it. so the saints lost their chance for the playoffs (20-19)....
so i was wondering if anyone could find the "vid" on the internet and post it. i dont know how to do that. thanks

I saw it--just like rugby! And I can't believe John Carney missed the extra point!!! Wow. It would have been crazy if he made it and they went into OT.

i saw nothing really great about that play, it was luck. sure, it'll live in infamy just like the Cal-Stanford Game. but it wasn't a great play. i'd love to see a playbook where that specific play is diagrammed out. sure, they did get lucky, and it turned out good, but it wasn't because it was designed that way. i can gurantee you that huddle went something like this: Brooks"Im gonna throw the ball to a reciever. don't put it on the ground, and don't let the play die. we HAVE to score. touchdown on 3!" too bad carney made a memorable play turn into a miserable game. reminds me of FSU-Miami game "wwwwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide righttttttttttttttt!!!"

it was luck, thats what made it so great!!!!!!!!!!

had they planned that, i doubt it would have worked....

but i'll just leave it in the words of a sportscaster:

"You've got to be kidding!! This will make history..."

That's why it was so cool--because it obviously wasn't planned. It begs the question: how did they call it? It is more cool because they have to be careful about the linemen, too. The line had to stay relatively close so that they didn't get a penalty for ineligible man downfield/ineligible receiver.

fine02civicgurl: do you live in the New Orleans area, around Baton Rouge, or elsewhere?
