Thanks for showing me my tints are partially illegal.
Rear 3 windows are 20%.
Front 2 are 35%. (Plans to retint to 20%).
Windshield 6" @ 35% (Plans to retint top 7"20%, and the rest 40%).
Noob question... I know here in MA you are only allowed 35% all the way around. Does that mean your tints are allowed to block 65% of the sun or does it mean the tints can only block 35% of the sun. I'm guessing the latter.
ALso, on the chart, under CA, it says "70" for F. Side and "ANY" for B. Side.
So I can tint my windows as dark as I want in the back? ("ANY") and up to 70% in the front? Any of you CA natives with info would be helpful. I plan on moving out there next August, so I don't wanna put on tints and then have to peel them off when I move out there
the 35% is for light being blocked from the outside, the lower the number of % the darker the tint to let light inside the car.
the side A and B issue. You need to contact your local police or sheriffs dept. to get the correct law on that because that varies from many places. For instance here if you have an SUV you can have all the windows tinted darkest you want; except for the front and the drivers and passangers side.
the california tint law states 70% is fine for the front side windows as of 1999, few of my buddies have been hassled with tint lighter than that percentage in california... is this tint law still accurate as of 2004+ ?
i also have 65% tint on my front driver windows, if the tint law is 70%, are their any exceptions why my 65% is morally reasonable compared to the 70% tint law? if so, what are some good reasons?
california law is NO TINT AT ALL on your front 3 windows of the vehicle. i just got a ticket for my front windows which were tinted 30% (or 70% for you reverse ppl) and i told the officer the limit is 70% as stated on that website above. he said nope, CA law is no tint on any front windows of a vehicle.
