i need help.....

yesterday i got into some trouble... i was comin home and i was goin to make a left at this intersection... the light was green and there was a truck but i had plenty of time to turn...however the light turned yellow and the truck floored it so by the time i was making the left he was going to hit me so i stopped and let him go...the cop saw this and made a u-turn and headed my way. i continued to drive my pace and made a right then a left to where my friend lives. i was droppign him off. a car comes behind me and puts his headlight one and then i made the left and he put his sirens. he stopped me and asked me why i was running away from him. i wasnt running away just trying to drive me friend home. he told me he was gunna cut me a break and not send me to jail from running from the cops? how was i runiing when he didnt have his sirens on or nething. he said i was tryin to lose him and pull into a driveway. this is not true. so i got summoned foe speeding? no radar to prove it. n i wasnt speeding. i got summonded for not yeilding to traffic and drivign past nine. im only 17. what should i do. court date is jan 04, 2005. he told me to plead guilty or he will tell the judge that i was running away from him.. and thn the judge will put me in jail. id unno what to do. every1 told me to fight it. but i am scared cuz he might show up on court and tell them that i was runnin from the cops. i dunno how i was since his siren wasnt one. pleez. some1 help me.. how much money are we looking at here? god.?

o0 wait on my summons i am looking at it. it is telling me to go to court on january 4, 2004?????? i cant go to court on this date since it is goin to be on 05? so how will i go to a court? does this mistake count for nething?

if mistakes counted you would be fVcked with all of the errors in your thread Just chill out he can't add a charge once you get to court. If you were not speeding and there is no radar to prove it plus you had a friend with you (witness). You should get off and maybe with the help of a lawyer get that cop in trouble .

but what about the court date? i heard if there i sa mistake on the summons it is dismissed or whatever? my court date is scheduled for jan 04, 2004. its gunna be 2005? how will this play a role...doe sne 1 with experience no what i should do..this is serious.. o0 yea i prior to this my licence was clean. i dunno what to do?

My dad is a cab driver in NYC..He gets tickets left and right..

One thing he told me that I know works 90% of the time for him is that if there is an error on the ticket (depending on what it is, like name, date, or whatever) the judge may throw it out just b/c the cop is a moron and they have a couple of hundred hearings every day...They don't like their time wasted in court as much as you don't like wasting your time going to court.

Bring the error up to the judge and see if the cops inconfidence counts for anything...I'm gonna give you 75% chance they'll throw it out ....other than that, you weren't doing anything wrong ...and a witness too...cop is just a moron... ...explain the situation to the judge..Dismissed!

all my violations happened on different streets and at the same time

if you do go to court map quest where the thing happend and to your friends house show all the turns and stuff bring that paper in.

then bring your friend in even if you gota pay him 20 bucks to come to say ya he was with you. i dont know about you ask a cop on here but i would even bring up that he was thretening you and herasing you saying that you where running when you wernt. (find out if that will help or hinder your case for on the brining up the running thing)

draw out what happend with the truck and you should be ok.


hate cops like that one of the reasons why most people dont like cops.

in NY you can't drive past 9... that's weak, in philadelphia its 11 for new drivers, like me im 16... i say you go to court straighten things out and dont get your insurance raised my .02
