we have some "undercover" cops now that try to get people to race their Civics so they can radio ahead to pull you over.. rofl. pull up next to em and they ask ya to race, so.. we pull next to them, they ask us if we wanna go, i was like.. "we're in Civics, i'll save us both the embarassment and say no" so they keep asking, i'm finally like, "sure, but i have a 2-way radio, want me to radio the cops so you don't have to?" and they drive off.. rofl... the fvcking city plates don't give it away at all... hahahaha. all our city street racers were up on this before they ever tried it once.. what morons! i thought i'd share the fine law enforcement of our city with you guys.. lol. That's pretty bad about cops trapping people like that. You could have pretended like you were gonna race and then take off normally. Then when they don't go either, you can ask what happened?

yup.. 2-3 Civics. our downtown speed limit is 35.. so i'm thinking about saying yes next time, taking off to 35 really quick, then just stay at 35. there's no law about how fast you can accelerate to 35..

Actually there is. People here have gotten tickets for accelerating too quickly, even if they never reach the speed limit. And in a civic of all cars

I've seen a white Toyota Prius with the blue/red lights on top and Sheriff down the sides in black/dark blue. Gotta go gas efficiency now instead of cruisin around in them Caprice's, etc.

Hmm...

I wonder how you could get them for entrapment.

FYI "Entrapment is a situation when the police ask you / coerce you into doing something and you say "Well, itsn that illegal? will you take me to jail? and they say "no..." and they do.

I think the equivalent situation in this case is to ask them "are you police officers?" or "Will you arrest me for this?" but I'm not sure.. that is actaully a pretty well crafted sting operation as long as the word doesn't get around.

yeah, i was about to say the same thing. Entrapment occurs when "the idea for the criminal activity must have originated with official agents of the criminal justice system". Also defined as "an improper or illegal inducement to crime by agents of enforcement".

it seems this is happening here. if you are just cruising along and some undercover po asks you to race, then he is trying to make you do something illegal that you might not have even thought about. thats bs
