Got My first ticket

Yea, I finally got my first ticket. I was driving down the road behind a cop. We were both going 55 in a 50. Well, we came up on these 3 cars and slowed down to 50. Well, I decided to pass him because the speed limit on the road changed to 55. I was passing the cars when i was right next to the first one and the cop decided to get in my lane to try to pace me. I pulled up and got over maybe giving him a second to "pace" me and I was going to get on the highway. He pulls me over on the entrance ramp and tells me I was going 61 in a 50 but the speed limit was actually 55. I admit I was going 60 but when I watched him pull over in my lane I slowed down. Anyway, I got a ticket and he wrote down the wrong location of where he clocked me. He wrote down the right street but he was wrong on what 2 streets in was between. My question is should I go fight it in court becuase I know I was in a 55 zone but the ticket places me in a 50.

well, if your ticket shows that you were in between two streets that happen to be in the 50mph zone, then it'll be your word against his. if you got any witnesses that state you were in the 55mph, you might have a better shot.

maybe you'll get lucky when you go to court and it'll get reduced to a non-moving violation being it's your first ticket.

sorry to say but you was speeding it dont matter if your doing 1 over the 55 it is still speeding,

that is true...but if a cop pulled you over for doing 1 over, that's messed up. either way, it's not as bad for getting a ticket for 6 over compared to 11 over.

You right speeding is speeding. But there is a big fine difference between 11 over and 6 over at the most.
