I got my windshield tinted. It's ONLY legal if you have a note from your eye doctor or skin doctor. My windshield tint is VERY light, and it's primary purpose is to block 100% UV radiation. It also greatly reduces glare. For me, this is good, since my eyes are hyper sensitive. I can see very clearly now, better than with dark shades. Check the DMV vehicle code section for the exemption. Of course, I got mine legit. I love it! I don't squint anymore, so I think it's safer. So far, (knock on wood) I have NOT been pulled over for it. But it is so light that it's not obvious.
Originally posted by Project2k2 only the top strip, and I am not sure how low u can go with it. but an actual tint on your windshield is a big no no. Places wont even do it for you.
Front is only about 10% tinted. It's very light, so I can see well even at night. It's main purpose is for UV protection. Only legal by prescription.
Check your local codes for the exemption if you qualify.

are you saying your tint on your windshield is 10%? if so you mean black tint? and if so isn't 10% like hella dark? maybe i misread it or maybe you made a type or maybe we aren't talking about the same tint but...uhhh yeaa!!
i think he means 90%, either way, i have a hard time driving without sunglasses, especially here in oregon when the roadas are wet with the sun reflecting all the time, i wonder if i can do that here
