Gauge Pods = Illegal???

I am just curious if Gauge Pods are illegal on cars? I went to the CHP site and saw nothing about them. I put a 2 Gauge pod on my car and think it sticks out like a sore thumb. I like them there but worry that it will be a cop magnet. I only say this because a friend of mine had a tac on his car and got pulled over for reason of suspicions from what the cop told him. He even had to open his hood, why I dont know. Do you have to open your hood when they tell you to, especially if there was no reason? He did but then was told that he had to get rid of his Short Ram Intake. Is this all true? I swear, this better not be fact because I believe the cops have better things to do than harrass me. Just want to hear your guys opinion on this. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

I am serious, i mean think about it why would they be illegal??? Your keeping watch on your oil temp, fuel etc.

I would say any gauge is legal as long as its not Nitrous. I would be suprised if the nitrous pod is legal and yet the nitrous is illegal

Some cars even come stock with pods i.e. Subaru WRX, Dodge SRT etc.

Ya, but police officers generally are jerks to teenagers. And remeber.. if they pulled you over.. a majority of the time they pulled you over to write you a ticket to meet a quota. So just try not to make anything on you car stand out too much if you have jerks piggys in your area. I am in Tempe Arizona right now, I haul ass everywhere. 60 in 40s, and I go right past the police and they dont even pull me over. But in my city, if you go 10 over they will write you 20 tickets for things you didnt even do, just to be asses.

actually blckout, there are and there aren't. there is an unspoken amount of tickets that each officers is expected to write a month. have you ever noticed the increased cop activity near the end of the month?

we dont have a certain number of citations but a certain number of contacts we have to meet a month which is like 7. A contact is actually stopping and questioning someone to actually writing them a ticket, its purely officer descresion on whether to issue a ticket or not.

In Quebec, Canada they're still on a quota system...man it sucks! If you go there and you have Ontario plates on the car you best be careful.
