I got pulled over the other day for my window tint by the PA state police. I have a 2001 Nighthawk coupe and i need to know if the Nighthawk came with factory tint on all windows. I bought the car used, so idk. In the bottom corner of the side windows there is a little symbol that says Honda tempered glass and this is overtop the tint. I showed this to the cop and he said that whoever did that, did a pretty good job. I told him yeah, honda did it. He says that it isn't factory, i need to know if it is before i try and fight the ticket.

On the windows there is a Honda-emblem but not sure what it says. The officer is supposed to use a piece of paper like material to measure the light transmittal from the sun through the window. If he didnt then you might have a case but i seriously doubt it. I would just pay the fine or take off your tint cause it wont go on your record.
yeah, he placed a device on the window that measured 20%...........my g/f's uncle just retired from the state police and if he can't do anything then i think that i am just gonna pay the fine.
nah heres what u can do.... there should be a signature space on it... try and find a family member or a friend or a friend with a family member that is an active cop.... they can sign the ticket and its like them stating that u removed the tint.. then go hand in the ticket and its dropped!

The EX is the only 7thGen vic that comes factory tinted in our country to the best of my knowledge. Are you an EX or not? If you are an EX, Honda can not sell that particular vic in your state if the tint already on it is illegal for your state. Again, this is to the best of my knowledge and assuming darker aftermarket tint was not added by a previous owner.

are you sure about that .. im like 99.9% sure that, thats wrong.. my uncle is a part owner of Manhatten Honda in NYC.. and ive spent alot of time inside the dealership seeing many 7thgens... i have to disagree with that statement of them coming factory tinted. maybe in Arizona they do it as a courtisty(sp?)- but i really dont think thats true.
I know for an absolute fact that in AZ, the EX 7thGen vic comes factory tinted and is even on the sticker price where the cars goodies are listed. Not to mention, I asked to have my Honda dealership tint my windows for me and was told they were already tinted and asked if I wanted it made darker. I of course said yes based on where I live. I would be more than happy to scan and either fax you or e-mail you my original sticker price sheet to prove this to you for you do not have to take my word for it, just let me know if you like and I will share this with you for your personal knowledge. I double checked and in AZ at least, the only model is the EX 7thGen vic that comes factory tinted. I can also either get a brochure stating the EX only comes tinted or take pics at the dealership of all the models' sticker price window sheets so you can see that the EX is the only one that comes factory tinted. I know you don't know me, so I will tell you, I will only ever spill onto page here what I know for absolute sure and will be able to back it. If I can't back it then I will state that it is just my thought and or opinion. Please know and understand that I'm not trying to be rude here at all, I'm just trying to let you know where I'm coming from. Now, if you are interested, I can fax or e-mail you my window price sticker sheet right away and the brochure or all other window price sticker sheets will have to wait a day or two due to my schedule and me having to actually go to my dealership. I hope this helps address your questions/concerns?

well miss MOD.. if u really read what i wrote i stated that ". maybe in Arizona they do it " but in the rest of the country where its not 90degree's out all the time.. its not a standard thing like You stated. just to FYI. Im just correcting your statement on country wide EX standard tints and theres no need for ur sticker I believe you.
You know I have to, it's mos def Mrs. Mod to you! LOL Sorry about that! 90 degrees? lol Try 110F to 120F for southern AZ in summer anyway! My statement was that is was to the best of my knowledge and I made that crystal clear by stating it twice in my first post and my second post was referring to AZ only. I most certainly read carefully what you said, I'm not so sure you did the same with me though. I thank you for your trust in my word though. Anyway, it is all good. Let us move on from bickering about tint, shall we? Much bigger and better fish to fry than this one!

nope i have to disagree again... your wrong. your totally wrong.. the cars to NOT come factory tinted... only tint that comes on the car is a green tint within the glass itself designed for glare reduction. If the dealer is selling the cars with tint , it is because they are having it done due to demand. not due to honda producing the cars this way. All across this country the cars DO NOT come tinted. sorry to make u feel like im arguing but YOU ARE WRONG.
