So as some of you know 89.9 is holding a contest for backstage passes for Hillary Duff. They are asking people to do something cool and original for a chance to win. So some people are painting their cars and stuff like that. A few days ago a girl calls in and asks the morning show if they saw her pic yet. She goes on to say that she sent a pic in of her dog. She and her BF tattooed the dog. Now the BF is a pro and knows how to tattoo. She said that they had to hold the dog down and sedated it. This is a real tattoo and very detalied.Now my question is do you think this was wrong. What is the difference in piercing you little girls ears or branding cows? I don't know how I feel yet about this, just wondering what you guys think and if you think it is wrong what should happen to the dog.

as far as piercing a little girls ears goes....I'm not sure about that either but i don't think I would do it.
My question now is why do you think it is wrong. People brand cows all the time. People pierce babies ears also. I thought at first OMG that is so wrong but couldn't come up with the reason why

Good point but do you think cows want their a$$ burned or babies want to get pierced. I am not trying to fight with you cause I don't know. Why is it ok to brand a cow and wrong to tattoo a dog.

i don't think it's totally wrong. i wouldn't do it, but i wouldn't say it's as immoral as branding a cow. the cow just gets burned while it's standing there. at least the dog was sedated...
as long as they treat the tatoo afterwards, and don't let the thing die, I'm 'ok' with it I guess.

I think I feel the same. Pure breed dogs get "tattooed" all the time. I would never do it to any of my dogs and this girl really didn't see anything wrong with this. I just hope that they take care of the tattoo and that the dog does not get sick
