Cold air VS. short ram?

Hey everyone! Im new to the site and I just got my 2001 metallic bronze Si!
I just wanted to know which one is better for my civic? cold air intake or short ram intake?
I was also wondering what brand of intake should I get? (does it make a difference? )

Welcome to the site d00d! Since you're new I won't hack ya for not searching...lol.

I prefer the Cold Air Intake myself. Better gains and more functional. Some people are freaked about using them in the winter but I never had a problem. Favorite brand is AEM but Injen is good too.

I'm runnin' with a AEM CAI. The Short Ram seems to run just fine(Dnarhp has an AEM Short Ram)...But like Pharoh said "Better Gains" with the CAI.

In my Opinion.....Go with the Cold Air Intake.

Are you automatic or standard? If you are standard, I would highly reccomend CAI all the way and AEM as far as brand is concerned. However, if you are automatic, you have to go SRI. I mean you can make modifications to do CAI on auto., but, aghh, no thanks for me anyway. I personally liked my OBX SRI. A very nice deep throaty sound where people swore I had modified exhaust and I did not. OBX is so not the best, but, I really liked mine.

im rollin deep with the aem cold air, but honestly anything but the stock airbox will do. Dont stress too much about the company, but if u want the easy way out just get aem. As for the winter i have yet to run into problems so i guess we will see. Oh yah be carful in posting these types of questions in other places...people get very very mad when people post questions that have already been covered...im not one of them im just warning you, cuz some people might seem mean but they aint!

took of resonator here budy, nice deep sound, but makes your car slower.

I like Injen, go with an Injen cai, and get a bypass valve to be safe (that stops water from being sucked)
