Sorry if this has been posted already, but I just got a ticket for my exhaust, 115 bux here in edmonton, and I'm wondering if they can ticket me just for the size or if they have to do a decibal reading as well?

usually it is just the size, depending on the cop it can be noise as well. How big was the tip opening ?

go slap on a silencer and then tell them that the silencer outlet is bigger then your stock muffler and take a picture and measure it. then bring it to the justice of peace guy, i think some guy did that with his del sol and he got off... if i ever get a ticket, that's what i'm gonna do/try.

Got one, tried fighting it, didn't work. How large is your opening? Now, how large is it compared to stock?

I believe that the ticket works on DB rating doesn't it? hell My boss has a suoped up Cummins Diesel that has 5-inch tips on it and it barks well and he never got a ticket. The ticket can be faught. A guy came into my work and said some RC in Grand Prarie keeps giving him tickets because of his "loud" exhaust on his diesel truck. He has beatin it 3 times already becuase he got a db test done and it was within the noise levels allowed, hell the db test is donw at idle, not acceleration. GO FIGHT IT MAN!!
