I saw it at the Varsity (Seattle) a day before the week was over.
It was nothing new since I saw it on the network back in the summer of 2001.
What was cool is that they used the same voice actors as the show so it stayed consistent. And the translations came out to be close to the fansubbed translation, which imo helps accentuate the characters in the show/movie.
They used the same music as the original, which is excellent.
I liked how they gave the hacker a british accent. It probably wasn't necessary, but it turned out very well.
The DVD is coming out in June, so it's definitely worth picking up.

Don't get the Hong Kong bootleg. The American DVD will be released by TriStar and Destination Films. It's going to have better sound, picture quality, and extras for a little more money. Plus, the HK eBayers don't pay royalties to the artists who worked hard to produce this where TriStar/Destination will.

saw this last night...thought it was AWESOME!! i really liked it. the music was great, the voices were the same ones as in the cartoon, and it was just a really entertaining movie. im def. getting the dvd when it comes out over here.
you could. But it's like watching a Star Trek movie without having ever watched the series. I never saw Star Trek before and my friends dragged me into Nemesis... I had no idea who baldy was or the weird aliens and ish.
ive only seen like an episode of the series, and i wasnt lost at all in the movie. maybe 1 episode was enough to get me familiarized with the characters, but i think they do a kind of introduction in the opening credits of the movie.
im sure there are references in the movie to some subplots of the series tho, i didnt catch any of those i dont think.

Baldy was Jean luc Picard, Patrick Stuart.....
The ones with pointed ears were Romuland, distant cousins of the Vulcans...
Worf is the big black man with the fugged up forhead...
cowboy bebop is awesome. i started out with the movie, and you don't need to see the series at all to understand everything. i'm on episode 16 or so now. it's really a great show/movie. the soundtrack...awesome
does anyone know a site or ftp that i can get the episodes from? kazaa is just not working out (and it's not my connection; i usually get stuff, ummm, "super fast" ). PM if you know a place. thank youuuuu
I would recommend that you support the companies responsible for bringing you Cowboy Bebop (Sunrise, Bandai Japan/USA) and buy the DVDs.
If you are unsure about whether to buy them or not, then try the Cartoon Networks Adult Swim. They play Cowboy Bebop all the time.
If Cowboy Bebop was an unlicensed production, then I would wholeheartedly recommend that you download it and enjoy. But since Bandai USA has forked out good money for licensing fees, advertising fees, DVD production, and such, it would only be fair to monetarily compensate them for their efforts.
