Who here has seen the anime Berserk? I was wondering what your take was on the ending, cause I've only seen the last 8 episodes via kazaa, because they're not out yet on DVD (well 18-21 are out now and I own the dvd (as well as DVD's 1-4 so don't go bitching to me about piracy...), but when I saw them they weren't) ANYWAY, I've read varying things on what happens at the end, and wanted to discuss with those who've seen it. My aim is Renamazazo or just PM me or just reply to this thread. Also does anyone know if a 2nd season is planned?

The ending is the very beginning of the series. It explains why he has a mechanical arm with crossbow and wield the greatsword with one hand. The entire story is really messed up, tragedy...
My friend, she told me that you can learn more about berserk what happens after the series by playing Berserk the RPG on Dreamcast...if you can aquire the Japanese copy.
You're right about the first episode being the "ending" but not quite. That only shows him killing the snake demond guy, it doesn't explain what happens to gods hand, or griffith or that naked chick. It doesn't explain how he got out of the situation he was in at the the end of the series.
Granted, I haven't seen the last 4 episodes on DVD, but I've seen the kazaa versions. (I couldn't wait another month to see how it ended.)
ANYWAY, what I was looking for was his transition between Guts and The Black swordsman, I wanted to see him have his sword forged, and get his arm made excetera... also I wanted to know how he escaped. From what i've read, he's helped out by "the skeleton knight" but that's only in the manga, (which I haven't read because it's in japanese, but I did read a thing on the differences between the manga and the series)
All in all I'm a really big fan of berserk and think that Guts really defines what anime is about.
Ok, I am gonna spoil your fun, by telling you what happen to Caska after she got raped by Grffin. In the game, Gutz had to protect her through the entire game, she couldn't even fight. She has gone "insane" And she was inpregnant by Griffin and gave birth to the demon king. Well, you guessed it, the demon king is the last boss!
If you can't find the game, you can find one of those illustrated collection books in Japanese bookshop or online. But they are in Japanese. Good thing that I could read some Japanese.
Gutz got out of the hell mess when the solar eclipse came to an end.
His greatsword was forged by the short old blacksmith who had a grand daughter, I think he died in the story. Gutz was so on freakin strong, he practices wielding the sword with one hand.
Well, I don't have a dreamcast, and I can't speak or read Japonese... but thanks for the info, I've read what supposidly happens in the manga, and it's similar to what you said.
Grrrr...I'm stuck now! I finally got around to watching the DVD's 1-3 since thats all I borrowed, now I wanna see the rest! This anime is better then I thought it would be! I wanna know what happens...too lazy to get it from kazaa.
