Anyone heard this CD yet? I personally think its amazing. Maynard really rips it up, his voice is.....enchanting? I don't know, something about them just sets them apart from everyone else.
On a Tool scale, I give it a 9.5/10 (the 10 is based on lateralus, arguably a perfect CD)
I'm not sure if it was released yet, but I highly recommend this CD for everyone.

my girl works at a record store so she got the cd when the store received it last friday. my copy should arrive tomorrow since it was cheaper for her to get it from work and fedex it to me.
i cant ****in wait. i also cant wait to go see them live at the fox theater in detroit on may 15th. $70 a ticket, but it'll be well worth it
It's a good album, but it doesn't touch Ænima or Lateralus. There's a lot of familiar riffs if you listen in comparison to some of their other albums. Wings for Marie, The Pot, and Rosetta Stoned are some badass songs though. Tool didn't dissapoint on this album as most expected they wouldn't. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 5 years for their next album, although Tool is all about quality not quantity. from me.
I'm listening to it right now. Very good so far. I BOUGHT IT. I really want to support this band so I have bought their albums. Someone like Sean Paul or something I won't spend a cent on.

Yea this cd is amazing. Some of Adam Jones best guitar work. Their use of timing just everything on this cd is awesome. It's really diffrent from Lateralus but that really doesnt suprise me because everyone of their records have been diffrent from its predicesor. I can't wait till they come around here sometime hopefully in August. If you've never seen tool live you should. Its not just a concert with music you can jump to its an experience.
I am going to buy it also. One of the very few bands that I actually support through buying cd's. Mainly because they really do mean it when they say it's not about them, it's a bout the music.
SO is this album more laid back and passive or is it edgey and in your face like Ænima?

Anyone thinks this album is bad needs to be kicked in the balls really really hard. Tool is the best band on earth, plain and simple. They have never nor will never cease to amaze me.

I agree, they have a sound of their own. I am going to pick the new album up sometime this week. Tool is one of the few bands that had a sound that does not sound the same, and keeps me glued to the speaker.

I just bought it today. Does anyone know the answer to the riddle behind the images in the booklet?
Maynard says it is another nut to crack.
I am talking about the booklet for the cd that you view through the magnifying glasses that come with the case.

i got this cd the other day.... meh it's a good album and all, but some of the tracks sound like recycled lateralus, especially the first song. it's good, but i enjoyed lateralus more, which is one of the less favorite tool albums of mine.
