The Simpsons is a long-running animated television series, created by Matt Groening, with 17 seasons and 362 episodes since it debuted on December 17, 1989 on FOX. The TV series is a spinoff of a skit originally aired on The Tracey Ullman Show; it is produced by Gracie Films for 20th Century Fox.
From Wikipedia, I thought that itn wasn't that long. more like 15+ years which is still a long time.
the simpsons movie was going to be based on an episode from iether season 1-3 i forget which. but anyways when the episode was all done it was like 20 minutes long. so it had a ton of fluff. after that matt groening gave up and the idea is yet to die.

take into account the fact that Tracy ulman show was on for early to mid 80's so thats where the '+' in the 15+ you got comes from hehe its somewhere at least
