Music critics are stupid

I just saw a commercial for White Stripes new album, and they were putting critics' quotes up on the screen. One of them was something to the effect of:

"White Stripes sounds like a man who sold his soul to the devil to become the world's best guitarrist."

Are you fvcking kidding me? Seriously. I know people who are better guitarrists than the White Stripes after 3 months of lessons. I didn't see the name attributed to that quote, but they've gotta be kidding. "World's Best Guitarrist?" GTFO now.

I'm still in shock that someone said that.

btw, the example in that White Stripes definition I linked to describes every White Stripes fan I've ever met.

Guy 1: Hey, wanna go to the White Stripes concert?
Guy 2: No.
Guy 1: Why not?
Guy 2: Because I like bands that don't suck.
Guy 1: What are you talking about? White Stripes is a great band.
Guy 2: Why do you say that?
Guy 1: Because my friends told me so.
Guy 2: Oh, so you're unable to form your own opinions.
Guy 1: Yes.
Guy 2: I thought so.

Even if someone was White Stripes biggest fan they couldn't say their guitarrist was very good when compared to everyone else in the WORLD, as the critic on the commercial did.

I'd say after about one week of playing guitar, I was better than the guy from the White Stripes.

Jack White isn't even mediocre. He fvcking sucks.

Granted, I'm not into the uber-talented "look at how many notes I just fit into that measure" style of guitar playing, but ridiculous reviews like that bother me when I can play better than the guy in question.

The problem is that you have 45-60 year old men reviewing music and movies and somehow it's their opinions that matter.

That's why I turn to trusty Maxim and Stuff for reviews haha.

i agree the dude is nowhere near the best, not even ****ing close. but white stripes are decent....they have groovy tunes.

I don't really know why you bothered saying something as stupid as that, The White Stripes are a brilliant band and no, not all the fans just like the bands because someone else does, now that really was a completely stupid thing to say, anyone I know who likes the White Stripes likes them because they heard them somewhere and kept listening to them because they were awesome... And Jack White is a pretty amazing guitarist and you just obviously can't appreciate his style.
Music Critics are music critics for a reason ya know, they obviously know more about music than you to comment about it...
