Very good question.

For some reason it's a lot cheaper for the studios here to film outside the U.S. Quite a bit of stuff shown here on T.V. is shot in Canada or elsewhere.

Plus, have you seen or heard about Death Valley, CA? It's very "green" for a desert these days. LOL
