Nice setup guy! I've got a couple of internal mods to get done before I get to the Turbo but rest asured that I have found a couple of shops (one in Ottawa and one in Toronto) that combined can give me the setup that I need. Much like you it will have to be custom kit but a kit non the less....Can't wait! Congrats!
Originally posted by Chrissy black, why dont you just die?? you are a pathetic liar and all you talk about is you fantasy "destroked 1.6" running 14 to 1 compression with your fantasy "nos zex kit 150-200 shot." that=KAABOOM!!. you think you can spank this turboed ride? nah, you can spank yourself and boost your ego by telling everyone you have the fastest 7th gen. my fuggin ass. if you did have a 7th gen putting 350 hp on the wheels as you claim, you'd be all over the sport compact news and every freak will wanna rob you for your autograph. but no, you are just a rice liar taking pics of "taken apart" honda engines and claiming that they are your mods. and i say this again... STFU about thinking ur all great cuz ur not!! PERIOD!
looks very clean... cool choice on the air to water, ive pumped some ice cubes through my blowers aftercooler... nice hp numbers, hows that motor run on pump gas? im assuming 91-92 octane or more correct?
Originally posted by REDVIC I use nothing but 94 octane gas... Then at times I might use the NOS octane booster for an added 8 octane or so... She knocks as it is... RACE GAS!
Can you kick down the boost run lower gasoline and keep the awesome gas milage? Or does turbo charging forever screw ur civic economy... because if the gas milage suxx ur gonna be filling up that little tank a lot. And with expensive gasoline that could quickly become depressing. Basically if you run a turbocharged car do u ALWAYS have to run the same boost level or is it easy to change.
All you need is a boost controller and maybe some sort of fuel controller. Simply put but there is tuning involved its not just a 20 minute deal.
Yea a boost controller or a wastegate will do the job, but a fuel controller is something you'd wanna stay away from. See as you provide more exhaust gases to the turbo, you will indefinitally make the turbine spin faster. Now if you try to give it less fuel you will overboost, which happen when you don't provide enough fuel for both boost and high RPM's. Take my word for it overboosting is fairly embarrasing in a race. Simply put theres a big loss in power and commonly you shoot out a black cloud of smoke. Nothing looks worse than winning a race by about a half a car length, then overboosting and shooting a black cloud all over the other guys car
redvic. did you do an engine swap (cuz it says vtec on the cover) or did you just change your head? cuz your car isnt an EX (black mirror no sunroof on pics). unless i missed reading something.
You need a fuel controller, how else would you tune your a/f ratio? wanna be running lean all the time?
i was refering to a controlled fuel cutoff that it sounded like he was hinting at. But for our a/f ratio, yes you will need a fuel controller. But not, using it as a way to try to control the boost. thats what wastegates and boost controllers are for.
not to flame or anything b/c i'm pretty new posting here....
i've been reading the posts here for a while....
I must say...our cars are slow slow slow 8 psi or not...
just cracks me up when people say "let them tell us our civic's are slow now"
Even with 8 psi you are only putting power at one wheel....
I would spend my 10k on a K20 and then boost that...that would be real power...limited slip too....
but of course it's still FWD and that sucks bad...
I love my civic and I autocross it at Gainesville International Speedway...but I don't have the 15k it would take to truly make it "fast"....k20 t3/t04e
flame me all you like....but you know i'm right....

"Fast" is an opinion. Therefore it's impossible to argue with you. However, with around $5000 you should be able to make a 7th gen civic spank alot of factory cars that are considered to be "fast". Some examples - Mazdaspeed protege, Nissan SER spec-v, and the beloved Acura RSX-S. A 7th-gen civic weighs very little campared to these other cars therefore it takes less to make them in most people's opinion "fast".

yeah our power to rate ratio is amazing, as underpowered as our cars are, they sure are light, and ill be glad to take out the interior for good and watch the lbs and numbers drop from my car soon, then and only then will it be a "dragger."
